1) Burnley sign ex-Manchester City goalkeeper

Burnley announced their new signing, former England goalkeeper, Joe Hart from Manchester City for a fee of £5m. Joe Hart has initially signed a two-year contract for Burnley. Clarets have signed Joe Hart as the Burnley’s goalkeepers, Nick Pope and Tom Heaton, are injured.

Hart has played 75 matches for England national team as a shot-stopper. The former England National shot-stopper has appeared 350 times for Citizens, winning two Premier League titles and one FA Cup. Hart made the permanent move after Guardiola stated he had no first-team future. And, he was also dropped from the England team which went to the World Cup at Russia.

After his departure, “Joe Hart’s contribution to Manchester City cannot be overstated,” said City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

2) A three-way race for Lyon midfielder

With the deadline of the transfer window closing on August 9th, every team is completely have shifted their concentration on filling and plugging the gaps in their teams. And according to The Sun, Manchester United have registered their interest in signing the Lyon midfielder, Nabil Fekir, along with Arsenal and Liverpool.

Before the start of the World Cup, Nabil Fekir was almost signed by Liverpool but concerns over his fitness avoid signing him. However, Liverpool are still in contention over the potential transfer.

Although Fekir can improve the attacking prowess of any team, it is difficult to lure him away from Lyon. But the football is all about the late swoops and this might be one of them.

3) Paul Pogba nearer to Barcelona?

Earlier few multi-national sports outlets reported that Barcelona’s star player, Lionel Messi, has urged the team management to sign Manchester United player Paul Pogba.

And according to the reports on The Independent today, Barcelona prepare to launch ‘Philippe Coutinho-style’ bid to sign Paul Pogba.  Going a further step ahead, Barcelona have offered Yerry Mina, Andres Gomes with £45m for the Red Devils starlet. However, reports from the Telegraph states that Paul Pogba is not for sale.

The recent reports from The Sun suggest that Paul Pogba has demanded £200,000 per week pay rise if he is to stay put at the club.

4) Chelsea activate the World-record fee clause for the keeper

On Wednesday, Athletic Bilbao have confirmed that Chelsea have activated Kepa Arrizabalaga’s €80m release clause. This will make Kepa Arrizabalagathe world’s most expensive goalkeeper in less than a month after Alisson joined Anfield based outfit in a £65m move.

The player is expected to undergo Medico at London tomorrow and finalise his terms with the Blues. Chelsea have been searching for the shot-stopper from a long time with Thibaut Courtois entering his last 12 months of the contract.
