Premier League Game-week 5 Review

Club football returned with a blast after the international break. A breathtaking fixture between Liverpool and Tottenham, a fantastic hat-trick from Eden Hazard and the first points of the season for Manuel Pellegrini‘s West Ham United ensured that there was plenty from the Premier League.

Apart from Maurizio Sarri and Unai Emery, another manager who picked up a much-needed victory was Jose Mourinho. The Red Devils saw of Javi Garcia managed Watford’s 100% record with a 2-1 win at Vicarage Road. In the same match, David de Gea produced numerous saves providing Manchester United to take away all three points. The most exciting game of the weekend was at Bournemouth, where AFC Bournemouth picked up a 4-2 victory over Leicester City.

Chelsea continued their perfect start of the season coming back from 1-0 down to beat Cardiff City 4-1. Belgian captain Eden Hazard scored a hattrick while Brazilian Willian scored the fourth goal for the club. It seems that Chelsea have found the Manchester City way to move forward in the league.

On the other hand, Manchester City are trying to keep up the pace with the current leaders, Chelsea and Liverpool, registering a victory at the Etihad stadium against Fulham. After losing two successive games in the Premier League, Arsenal continued their revival of the season after they beat Newcastle 2-1 at St. James Park. Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil played a huge part in the Arsenal victory.


Newly promoted team, Wolverhampton Wanderers secured their second successive clean-sheet victory on Sunday and beat Burnley 1-0 at home to climb up to ninth in the standings. Wolves continued their fine Premier League after promoted.
