So, to give a heads-up to our followers Sportsanayst team is pickings its ‘India World Cup Squad’ below:

Current Indian team is full of star batsmen, who are considered among best in the business. So, let’s start with the counts:

Virat Kohli (C):

India would be first time leading to the ODI world cup under the captaincy of the best batsman of the world Virat Kohli. Undoubtedly, he would enter to any team of the world. Though he started poorly in IPL 2019 but in last 3 innings he has been very consistent with RCB.

Rohit Sharma:

He is considered as the best opener of the white ball cricket due to his consistency and stroke playing ability. From last 4 years he is the only batsman who is competing with Kohli neck to neck with run scored, consistency etc. In this IPL also he is opening for MI which is giving India more confidence.

Shikhar Dhawan:

The star Indian batsman is known for his consistency in England. He has scored with an average of 65.06 in England. Though he has looked patchy in last 1 year but his performance in Asia cup, big hundred against India and performance in IPL secures his place in team.

KL Rahul:

Though this inclusion would disagree a lot of fans, but it seems a deserved entry. His current IPL form and his test hundred against England in England gives him a support for entry.

Kedar Jadhav:

He is the dark horse of the team. This man can give you 5 overs of mystery bowling and gives a proper support to Dhoni to finish the match. He has been a hidden trump card for Virat in ODIs.

Wicket Keeper:

MS Dhoni:

The former ODI captain ‘Thala’ is the no brainer entry to the squad. Though he was looking patchy in his batting in 2018 but his game against Australia in ODIs has given a relief to selectors. He is the brain behind the Virat, and which gives an added advantage to India.

Dinesh Karthik:

Though this selection would be most difficult for selectors due to presence of young talent Rishabh Pant. But we should understand, this would happen only if Dhoni would be out of team due to injury. So, we should think who best replacement to Dhoni as a keeper would be as well as batsman and a support to Kohli.

Hardik Pandya:

He is the only genuine allrounder India has now. He bowls, bats and an excellent fielder in field. His stroke hitting ability and wicket taking ability gives him definite entry to squad.

Vijay Shankar:

This man has grown from his level in this last 12 months. People still can’t forget that innings against Bangladesh in Nidahas trophy, which has made him falter in public eye. But his recent innings for India as well as SRH gives him best chance.

Ravindra Jadeja:

This man bowls excellent, fields outstanding and gives deep batting option to Indian team. His recent batting form for CSK gives him added advantage for selection.

Jasprit Bumrah:

The No1 ranked ODI bowler is the face of Indian pace attack. His vital Yorkers proves him as the best bowling option in death overs.

Mohammed Shami:

His story is same as Indian ex-captain Dhoni. He looks more fit and sharper in 2019. His recent performance gives him favorable chance over Bhubaneswar Kumar in final 11.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

Though he is looking in bad form post his injury, but I believe selectors should not forget his past performances. He is among the best swing bowlers of world which would be weapon in England

Kuldeep Yadav:

The lead spinner of India is well known in world for his wrist spin. Though he is looking patchy in IPL but with Dhoni behind the wicket he would be a trump card for Dhoni.

Yuzvendra Chahal:

The chess player of Cricket is known for his risk-taking ability and mind game. Famously known ‘KulCha’ due to his combination with Kuldeep would be unplayable for batsmen in England this world cup.
