The 11th edition if Indian Premier League got over on 27th May 2018. The cricketing festival consisting of 60 matches over a period of 51 days was concluded with the Chennai Super Kings being the winner. It became a gloomy time for cricket lovers when they realised that IPL 2018 is over. Probably they must wait for one year to see Mr. Cool’s captainship, Kohli & ABD in same team etc. Among these emotional moments, we are bringing out Top 5 Recalling points of IPL 2018:
1- The Battle of wicket-keepers: In the start of the tournament, nobody would have thought wicket keepers will be playing such an important role in this year’s IPL. Just name a wicket-keeper and map their performance, you will be amazed to see their contribution:
Rishabh Pant: 684 runs from 14 matches- Highest run scorer in the league stage
Lokesh Rahul: 659 runs in 14 matches
Jos Buttler- 548 runs in 13 matches
Just not look at the numbers but try to recall how their teams have played when they performed… It is directly proportional.
I believe every cricket lover would have seen the performance of MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik. They don’t need an introduction. Their captaincy and finishing were fantastic this year.
Though numbers don’t showcase a good performance of Ishan Kishan and Wriddhiman Shah… But they showcased how should be the best team player. They just tried to perform whatever role they were assigned. They just played for the team and didn’t even care for numbers.
So, this IPL was a battle of wicketkeepers.
